Review: Contraband

By Janet Lewison

Most people have love for their friends and family. That love and loyalty towards them can be tested from time to time when some of them make things difficult by putting themselves in terrible predicaments. Because of this, you might feel the need to step in when their own ineptitude causes these problems, even if you know it's not a good idea. That's basically the situation Mark Wahlberg's character is faced with in his new film Contraband.

The first type that most people will be familiar with are the stands that are made from wood and are quite plain and simple. These look good when combined with a large range of different decors, this is due to the fact that you can buy wooden stands in a pine finish, an oak finish, a mahogany finish and many more.

So if you have a particular type of wood that you feel would look good in your home you will easily be able to find what you need.

Like many other people, these soldiers had to deal with racism and discrimination. Red Tails does a good job of showing not only some of what they had to face, but also how they reacted and the results of those reactions. Some of those people who viewed them as less than human showed that they would never change their views, while others eventually came to accept them as equals. It was an interesting dynamic that shows the many faces of racism and how knowledge and respect may or may not change things.

Although it showed some of the racism and discrimination that these men faced, it wasn't the only thing they focused on. Along with the battles and camaraderie amongst the soldiers, a good portion of Red Tails was about the friendship between Martin "Easy" Julian (Nate Parker) and Joe "Lightning" Little (David Oyelowo). One of them is a flamboyant ladies man who has trouble listening to authority and the other is the captain of the group who has his own personal demons that he has to fight against. These two friends had their own things going on, but also clashed a couple of times with each other. Their relationship is one of the film's major storylines, but it never comes close to getting in the way of the main plot.

Ben Foster on the other hand, played a very straight-laced character that really stood out to me as well. I haven't seen much of his work, but he has put on good performances when I have and this one was no exception. He was the second best actor in the film behind Ribisi, but everyone was good.

These are just a few of the main types of TV stands that you can choose from and if you have never bought one before it makes sense to check out each type. If you do this you can be sure that you will not overlook any stand that you would love and you will always know that you have made the best selection possible. For the best choice look online where you can see pictures of all of these stands and more.
