Safety Precautions When Staying In Motels In North Miami

By Erin Vargas

There are many motels in North Miami that one can stop in if he is tired after driving for long hours. A motel is a place where travelers can stay in for the evening especially when they are still far from their destination. Here, they can sleep well, eat warm meals, and regain their energy so they can drive for another day.

For those who will stay in a motel, they must be aware of the safety precautions that they need to follow so nothing bad will happen to them while they are there. This would include checking the neighborhood first to see if it is clean or if it safe and well lighted.

Always instruct the person that you are traveling alone or tell her who are the ones that you are traveling with. Instruct her not to allow any person to get the key from her without your knowledge. There are many people who would pretend to be with you just to get in the motel room.

Check the room that will be given to you so you can make sure that the locks are working and the windows are not broken. There should also be enough light in the hallway. Get a room that has a deadbolt and a peephole on the door. Change your room if you think it is not safe or go to another place.

Keep the room key with you and avoid leaving it on top of the table, on the coach, or in a place where others can take it from you. Place it in a safe place inside your bag and do not show it to others. There might be someone that would try to steal it so that he can go inside your room without your knowledge.

Use your peephole when someone will knock on the door. Keep the deadbolts on before you will go to sleep so no one can enter it. If you are suspicious of an attendant, call the management about it.
