I was looking at the electric edgers since I didn't think I'd be using it that much and frankly using an extension cord is not that big of a deal to me. It's extremely easy to put together, all you have to do is put two screws in and you're done.
He says it is much nicer and easier to use than his old gas-powered edger. There you have it.
It blazed down the driveway and sidewalk the first time I used it leaving a nice, clean edged line. I'm a tough critic. My only concern is how well it will hold up over time. I had another Black and Decker product (a hedge cutter) and it was flimsy. Don't waste money. Dear Sir I have not rated this product as yet, it is a beautiful machine but I wonder if there is ever a faulty machine produced? So many good things already been said about this product so I don't think I still have to elaborate on how good this thing is. But I would like to mention a few non-technical aspect of thing edger.
Too bad for them I don't lend tools to even family members. It is very quiet even at full blast power. I finally switched back to using a spade, and it went much faster than using the edger. Now I use the edger to maintain what I originally did with the shovel and it works like a charm.
Easy to clean up and place back on the wall storage hook next to all my other fun yard tools. The orange color matches my Husqvarna too! Compare with the older one, this Edge Hog is more stable, more powerful; hence can give better cut for the lawn edge. This product works great. Our grass was pretty thick for the initial job and it handled it without and huge hassles. It was much nicer the second time around. Best advice to you for first time use on over growth, use a string trimmer to clear over growth, and then use the edger. Use a blower/rake to clear your path, and then make one more pass with the edger.
This B * D Edger is an excellent product. The assembly was easy and when I proceeded to edge our sidewalk, after many weeks of overhanging grass growth, the 'Edge Hog' produced a nicely trimmed edge. The Edge Hog does everything your product description promised....and does such a good job! I am very pleased with it, all around.
