From now on, I will hesitate on believing Amazon reviews because either the company is making fake reviews or they simply only post positive reviews. To elaborate: You have two options when using this fan; you can plug it in to a USB port on your pc or use batteries. For me, it is exactly what I was looking for. It's a quiet fan that lowers the temperature by a couple degrees and moves air around.
I have to put my face right on it to feel a little bit of cool air. Afterword I placed the filter inside the fridge to see if that helped but I didn't see much of an improvement. Very nice fan, but it doesn't come from Amazon and the Handy Cooler folks really charge a lot for shipping! (They also tried to charge me almost 5 bucks "sales tax" before they even knew where I lived!) This is a great product!
I do outdoor camping a lot and it gets too hot in the summer at times. This has helped keep my tent cool but I would prefer it to ventilate fresh air from outside, and this doesn't do this very well.
I've never seen the actual product so I was hoping I could see it before I buy it in a retail store. I asked the Genexus, the company, and they said the best deals were on Amazon so I got one from here. I loved it so much I bought another one for my kids, and I got the home adapter with it. The air conditioner works better with the adapter - it provides a lot more airflow and cools better. There is no turning this off. I've worked with other women experiencing this lovely symptom and one thing I want to make clear; if the symptoms of menopause (a normal part of life, which can hit even in the early 30's) see your GYN doc and try hormone replacement therapy.
Only downside is that it isn't rechargeable although you could always use your own rechargeable batteries or use the USB jack. Overall a good buy especially with the summer heat coming up!
For almost 50 bucks you would think it would last at least a year. I used this in Palm Springs, went to a family wedding outside at a park and all my family took it from me to use, My Aunt loved it so much I may purchase one for her for her birthday.
The Good: DO NOT believe all of the hype on here...That's all it is, hype. During my pregnancy I got hot flashes all the time. We ordered this fan after reading another on-line review. It lives up to its reputation....it is quiet and gives a good strong breeze. I ordered this fan about a week ago and I have been using it since! I use it mostly while working on the desk and also I put it besides my bed when I sleep. I found the product to be rather bulky as well. Even though aesthetically stylish, I would feel self-conscious using this thing out in public as it is rather unusual.
But overall it does help, and worth buying if you're looking for something to help cool you off in the hot sun, or if your laptop starts to get hot. It does cool my laptop off pretty good.
