Poor Motion Sensoring - Bollard Lighting Review

By Victoria Anderson

Both models are working perfectly. They illuminate close to the 350 square foot region it claims to do with a bright although not overpowering white light. Just received one today. Puts out a substantial amount of light (I put it on the dim setting and it is still extraordinary) and seem like it might offend the neighbors like a regular floodlight might. It's not as bright as my motion flood lights out back, however it is effective by the door. Even with the lights in my room and the only light in the room being the part of sunlight coming through the curtains, it's not going to activate (I have it in the closet above the door, so it's not facing any direct light).

We mounted these lights below eaves and all over the perimeter of our house roughly 8 weeks ago.

The light output is dimmer than I anticipated.

The directions explain how you can do that and the hardware is supplied. Tried a few solar types that weren't bright enough - and each lasted a couple months before irreparably dying.

First I'll say the MB360 and the Dorcy walkway lights are exactly the same thing. The light is really vibrant, even on the lower setting, that I truly could have gotten by with only one light rather than two. I am happy. Dorcy has a long history with Pelican flashlights so they aren't a newcomer to the LED field, this solitary LED reportedly emits 140 lumens, guessing its a Q5 emitter. The light is ideal for my use.

I personally dropped one from about ten feet while attempting to install it and aside from several scratches, it was good. However I believed I was getting a much better purchase with these features integrated. The movement sensors aren't too sensitive that you will get false sensing. Great job, affordable, the two units I got myself are well appreciated. Over half of them broke during installation, while screwing them directly into regular, wood siding!

You absolutely need to get the screws just right on this security bollard light, that takes just a little doing, particularly up in a tree. Therefore it is not likely to replace 150w floods lights, but more than enough to see your way around. We now have numerous very dark areas in our lawn, and had been hopeful these lights will make navigating the backyard safer. I was thrilled to find this battery powered movement lighting system. I mounted the walkway lights to a sizable fruit tree close to the front steps, down near the road.

For a flood light that has only one LED, it's sure bright! The light mounts via 1 screw into the foundation. All I would like this motion light to do is to assist me to find my early morning paper in the driveway, produce some light when I drive out and in during the night, and provide just a little security lighting, and it does everything good enough to be happy with the purchase. I'll need to see how long the batteries last but to date I'm happy with the TCP lighting unit.
