I spent a ton of money on small personal fans, all endorsed or made by major retailers like Coleman, Brookstone, Target and many more. I should have invested in this product first. The handy cooler is much better because it's automatic (no more pumping the water bottle) and the cooling effect is great. It's not the best when it comes to sharing it, but it really does work having it right next to your neck. To feel the cool air, you will pretty much have to position the vents towards yourself. You need to put water into the filter every 2 hours, but it will still work if you don't - just without the cool air effect.
It's easy to pack and not heavy so you can bring it everywhere. If you use it at home, you can take out the batteries and plug in a USB cable that it comes with.
I've used it lining in banks, waiting for buses, on train etc. And it has now become a necessity since the last 2 weeks when the temp hit the mid 90s. Thank you, Handy Cooler. For what it is, it is a very good little fan.
I am happy that I purchased this ingenious product. This is the first fan ever that uses swamp cooling/water cooling in a unit so small that it can be easily carried in your hands.
My son was 4 months old at that time. We bought the Stroller Cooling System, which is basically the Handy cooler, the air tube, the USB connection and the universal organizer that holds the Handy Cooler when you use it with the stroller, as well a little extra storage for things for you and baby. I would recommend this product highly. I bought this little beauty for our recent trip to Walt Disney World. This is a handy little cooler that serves its intended purpose well - cool an individual. The unit itself is plastic but it feels sturdy and well made. The Good: DO NOT believe all of the hype on here...That's all it is, hype. During my pregnancy I got hot flashes all the time.
Under this condition, the cooling worked well. When you're using this outside walking in the hot sun, it's easy for the wind to blow the fan's output away. I can also pick it up and hold it close to my face when I need a rapid cool off. This product is brilliant! We've had this for nearly 1.5 years already and it is almost constantly on when I work on the computer during the summer. Other than needing to buy some new filters last week, this is still working like new.
