It's Ok But Not Very Bright - Solar Step Lights Review

By Hailey Phillips

The six LEDs provide lots of light for the closet, and so far, the motion-sensor has worked without fail. I am happy with this light.

It throws some light (more than enough to see by) mounts effortlessly, is wonderfully adjustable and has fantastic battery life. I like that if anyone comes into my patio this lights up the region.

The LED bulbs provide an extremely gentle but bright light.

It could work in a place that required very low light, a hallway or stairwell for example. We returned the light and the area has stayed thoroughly clean.

Or we could put in battery powered lights, but would have to flip them off and on when needed. When doorways are opened they kick on. Fantastic overall worth. Just be sure the sensor is staring at you.

The sensor on the solar floodlight doesn't work in half of dimly lit areas. I have two areas in my home where I wanted low-level lights to come on instantly when somebody entered the space, but did not want to go to the expense of hard-wiring. For plug in movement sensor the GE 50723 light is awesome - particularly with the Crane LED bulb! Nevertheless, it is so dark in the room and closet at this early hour the light sensor seems unable to detect the movement of the closet door opening. Two small starter holes with my trusty Dremel and in 2-3 minutes, this 'chore' is going to be done. I chose to purchase another one. As I mentioned previously, my light isn't exposed to any immediate moisture at all - it is hung on my porch roof which has an eave that extends down one foot in the roof line and the light is mounted in the corner. Humorous thing is, a week after I purchased this on Amazon, one of my personal favorite stores, Hammacher Schlemmer began carrying it for $10 more, still is.

Lights the whole porch so fumbling for keys in the dark is eliminated. Everybody brushes their teeth at night - just flip all the lights forward on the way to bed. Many thanks!

Repeated it once more and it worked. Glad I did! Perfect light for seeing the dogs and finding the answer to open the door.

The movement sensor is inadequate: it's too small an aperture of detection, and it activates even in daylight indoors and outside.
