Families and people who are looking to get way on a vacation may be interested in taking a trip to The Big Apple. The state has no shortage of things to do and there are numerous fun tours in NYC that people can enjoy. There is a lot of history in New York and many of the things to do give visitors the chance to see all that the state has to offer.

There are numerous types of guided excursions that visitors can take. They may be by boat, limo, bus, car or helicopter. The prices will range based on the company, time of year and type of tour. Groups may have a different price than admission for single adults or children. These journeys are good for small or large, private or public groups. They allow people to experience main attractions, which is especially convenient for those in town for a short stay.

Some companies offer packages that include trips to several destinations. Others offer single trips to landmarks and popular destinations. Choose the tour that aligns with your interests and you should not be disappointed. These may be short, only a couple of hours, or all-day activities.

Attractions are sprinkled all throughout the state, but there are some places that most travelers venture. Times Square is a major tourist attraction. It is a big intersection in Manhattan that is referred to as The Crossroads of the World. The brightly lit area is filled with skyscrapers, major entertainment venues and a lot of people.

The Statue of Liberty is another of the many popular destinations. This sculpture has historical significance. It is located in the New York Harbor on Liberty Island. Standing over 151 feet high, the statue can only be reached by taking a boat. Typically there is no fee to enter into the area where the national monument stands. The ferry service needed to get there may have a fee. Most agencies that provide tours include this in the overall fees.

The Empire State Building is in Manhattan. The 102-story skyscraper is a popular observatory that has attracted millions of people. It was the highest building in any place around the world for over 40 years. Visitors may sit or stand at one of the many observation decks and get a full view of the city.

Central Park is another place people may be interested in visiting. The public park has been around since the 1800s. In 1962, it was designated as a National Historic Landmark. Although many tours will only pass by the 843-acre park, this is a destination for people who want to mingle with the locals and enjoy the New York scenery.

Tours may also be geared toward a certain interest, for instance: history, film, art, music, shopping and more. Guides may take visitors through different neighborhoods and boroughs so that they can see what the inhabitants and the city is like outside of its popular destinations. These fun tours in NYC are not mandatory but allow people to get a nice look at the state. They are especially recommended for those who do not speak English.
