Senior Golf Today

By Henry Jordan

Senior golfers in a group get more fun and play more rounds of golf compared to an ordinary golfer. Having raised their own families and retired from their professions, senior golfers get more time compared to their younger competitors. For that reason senior golfers are considered to be the "bread-and-butter" of the local golf courses throughout the country.

Golf courses have become more and more "senior friendly" to compete for the senior golfer's business. Many of these seniors together with their spouses or better half play for social reasons. Their own love of the sport as well as the realization that they really enjoy playing the game together with friends has forced the golf business to serve them on their business.

While seniors might not have the chance to strike the ball as much as the younger player, they know their restrictions and often will have fun with a more clever match. They will use the ability of the course and many other bits of expertise to score points. Since senior golfers use their expertise and their practical experience, they compensate for the loss of yards on the tee off.

All golfers that play golf should know about the possibility of injuries, which could happen when golfing, specifically senior golfers. Mainly because the twisting and turning motion of the game, this places an undue level of force on the spine, hips, and shoulders. Since a lot of golfers are inactive during the winter season, accidents such as muscle strains and injuries on the disc are common.

The golf swing includes bending over and then twisting, that's one of the most unfortunate moves people could make based on physical therapists. If your legs are bent and the back is straight it'll keep pressure off the discs. You can also tighten the stomach muscles to help give the back support during the swing action. It may be beneficial to all golf players, especially senior golfers to perform a few warm-up routines before hitting the tee.

There are health improvements to be obtained by playing golf. The growing quantities of older Americans are usually making the most of the health advantages derived through golfing. Here are a few tips provided by most of the sports medicine professionals for senior golf players. Most of these tips can make the sport more enjoyable and will lessen the possibilities of any injuries connected on the golf game.

Health and fitness can be improved by playing a round of golf provided that the golfers do not ride around on the golf cart for the entire round. Walking could be best for the entire fitness by improving the aerobic capacity. Walking may increase your heart beat to satisfy the guidelines for aerobic exercise. Of course these benefits must be well balanced along with problems linked to going for a walk long distances like joint pain, heat related problems among other complications due to the individual's general health. Carrying your golf clubs isn't advised. You will be better off using a pull cart instead. As always the golfer should check with their doctor to make sure it's safe for them to walk nine or 18 holes.
