I think that everyone has his or her own sleeping patterns and bedding has to accommodate each of them. For example, you may have a sleeping space that is softer than others but people around you may prefer something that doesn't sink as much. In addition, these qualities vary so much from one another that I don't believe a universal best mattress can ever be made. However, maybe it's for the best and I have reasons to back up this opinion, too.
Personally, I'm someone who is perfectly content with a firm bed and I believe that counts as my best mattress. However, others will have their preferences and I believe that one of them has to do with the stores people buy from. Some of them may have a trusted seller they go to and they constantly do business with them since they have proven to be reliable in the past. While there are companies such as Sleepy's, which are reputable in their own rights, some consumers may want to go outside of the box.
If you're worried about picking out the wrong mattress, you do not have to worry because these kinds of stores allow you to try them out. It's important that these places allow consumers to do so because how else are they going to be able to make educated choices on beds? They can hear about how good a particular model is but it's not going to do much. It's only until that information is put into actual implementation that true decision-making can be done.
Comfort seems to come about in many senses, from physical to financial. I believe that in the case of the latter, everyone has a budget to consider. They want to be able to work with the right amounts of funds and this means that there has to be a good sense of management with them as well. For example, if you go into a store and it allows you to negotiate rates or what have you, it's possible that you'll be interested and want to see about price cuts that can be done as well.
It's clear that you want to buy the best mattress possible but to say that there's a best mattress for just about everyone would be a lie. Everyone is going to have a different sleeping situation and, as a result, there are going to be many beds that will be looked into. Not everyone is going to wake up soundly. In fact, people are going to most likely wake up in pain if they rest on a bed that isn't made for their sleeping arrangement while it's tailored to someone else's.
