This Tuscan Olive Oil Drought Needs To End

By Rob Sutter

I think that when it comes to Tuscan olive oil - or just about any sort - there has been news of a shortage. There have been great losses in Spain, about as much as 60%, because of how harvesting has dropped off in recent days. Considering that this country is somewhat known for its oil production, this is a saddening piece of news. Hopefully this shortage is only temporary, though, because I don't think there are many people who are going to stand for this.

Why should there be a shortage in something like Tuscan olive oil, which has proven to be healthful for those who have taken it on? After reading the Huffington Post, it seems like this drought comes from the closing of the harvest, which means a number of things. Companies like Unaprol will be able to tell you just how beneficial it can be to the lives of just about anyone. However, the problem that seems to exist, more than anything else, is the increased price that is certain to come.

I think that if anyone were to tell me that the price of the oil wouldn't be worth it, I may have to put up an argument. Have you ever tried utilizing it with bread as opposed to butter, which is the more common spread to be utilized? You may not realize how many benefits exist for this but you can be certain that there are many. I want to be able to support the companies which bring these oils to the masses because I know that I'll be getting good products every single time.

I do not want to see this shortage occur much longer, especially when there's the possibility of keeping oil costs low. I want to be able to invest money in this products and I am sure that other olive oil supporters are going to feel the same way. The problem is that with high prices being seen constantly, they may not be conducive to the budgets that they possess as well. It's important for them to spend more carefully so that they do not wind up severing their bank accounts.

It's tough to say what we, as consumers, can do in order to stop this drought from occurring. It's one of those aspects that seem to be outside of the realm of our control, which is sad to consider. I believe that all we can do, at this point, is to offer up our support for a component that has proven itself to be one of the best that anyone can use in the culinary sense. I can only hope that this drought of sorts will not last for too much longer.
