I don't have any kids of my own yet, so I am really close to my sister's daughter and love to get her fun gifts and treats whenever I get to see her, which is usually on holidays, but this year, I did not know what to get her for Christmas until I saw a child in the airport holding up a singing bear. In hindsight, I should have hurried over and asked the kid or her parents where they had gotten this bear, but I was too scared and was thinking that nobody likes a stranger asking questions about their children's toys.
Still, as I continued thinking about this singing bear that I had seen, the more I knew that it would just be the ideal gift for my little niece as she loves both music and bears in equal measure. I didn't charge my laptop batteries before getting on that specific flight, so I couldn't look on the Internet for the same bear or something similar and the airline magazines had nothing even remotely like it available.
When I got to my destination, I had to attend a business conference and even deliver a seminar, which kept me so busy that I forgot all about the bear and neglected to write anything down about it to remind me. A little while later, I found myself in a huge toy store looking for a present for my niece but couldn't find anything that I thought she would really like, when all of a sudden I remembered the bear and ran to ask the clerk where I could find such a thing.
I was informed that they did not sell anything like what I was describing, so I went back home and started looking on the Internet as I should have done in the first place. Luckily, I was quickly able to find a website that sold a musical bear that was precisely what I saw the little girl holding in the airport and made a purchase as soon as I saw it.
I arranged for the bear to be delivered to my apartment so that I would be able to wrap it and have it looking beautiful when I gave it to her, and I was anxious to see if she liked it. I shouldn't have worried, because when she unwrapped it on Christmas morning, she unleashed a shriek of total delight that almost ruptured my eardrums and began snuggling the bear while it played such lovely music.
