I have a detached garage so this Hunza lighting unit provides lots of light to allow me to open the door and find the lights within.
They both was very successful for about a month, they began doing exactly the same thing, they'd just stay on when it got darkish out. So it's not really a motion detector because it is almost always on. I heven't had them long enough to sense battery life, but changing batteries a couple of times a year isn't any problem. I have solar lights which use two AA batteries that released more effective light.
I feel safer knowing that it's back there and anyone who may attempt to break in is going to be shocked when a light comes on. My only grievance is it was a bit difficult to get the batteries and the connections to mesh just right so that it worked following assembly. So far the Dorcy has performed just as described by the makers "Features." I cannot really complain about the security bollard light so far. In the beginning I believed it was because of my other outside lights, since it claims it's not going to turn on when it is light out. This design ought to be $14.99. The second light I am not having as much luck, but assume it's picking up the light from the other spot light. The light mounts via 1 screw into the foundation. The motion sensor is extremely delicate and has a reasonably wide detection angle. I'd have liked an on/off switch.
This is a fantastic little light, ideal for over the door or by the automobile, anyplace you'll need light, but don't have any electrical hook-up. The only real negative is the fact that there isn't any on-off switch on the lamp.
I'm happy with the value, as long as they still work. I'm happy I purchased it.
The picture sensor stops it from turning on when the garage is illuminated during daylight or when the inside fluorescents are on. You will find both a 30-second setting and a 2-minute setting on the time the light stays on. It's a shock to discover how effortlessly your space, your life, could be invaded. Apart from the trouble or returning them (Amazon makes it pretty simple but it still takes time), I have been happy with the units. Super easy to mount, this solved my issue.
Our canine was sprayed about three years back and again this February.
I mounted this light on the post at the corner of my patio and aimed it at the grill.
The light does not come on unless of course it is dark and the range of the sensor is fairly broad. Batteries (Duracells, installed new) still tested good. But soon after I leave, it turns off.

About the Author:
I'm getting excited about how well the bollard lighting units work in the cold Northeast winters. Even if it does not keep Pepe Le Pew away, at least I will see the TCP lighting unit on and know somethings crawling about in that area before I let my canine out.
