How To Make A Travel Experience A Positive One

By Edward Cross

A great travel tip is to make sure you give yourself enough time to check out of your hotel. A lot of hotels will charge you steep fees if you don't manage to check out of your room by the time that they specify. Always give yourself enough time to check out.

When traveling with a baby, bring a whole bunch of extra large ziplock bags with you. You never know when your little one will have a blow out and it is nice to put it into something that will keep it locked away from anything else. Plus you do not want to put wet clothes in with everything else.

Be sure to remove airline tags as soon as possible after a flight. Leaving old destination tags on a suitcase is one of the major causes of lost bags. Do not take the risk of baggage handlers scanning the wrong tag and causing your bag to end up in a different airport than you.

If you tend to forget things in your hotel room when you are traveling, try writing down reminders to yourself on the mirror with a dry erase marker. It is easy to lose a note that you have written on a sheet of paper, but it is difficult to ignore something written on the mirror. Dry-erase markers come off easily with toilet paper, making this approach simple and convenient.

If you are going to be packing your shoes in the same bags as your clothing it is a good idea to put them in a plastic bag and put some air fresheners in that bag. This will protect your clothing from dirt or odors that your shoes may have.

If you're heading to a beach destination, pack your toiletries in a cooler bag. When you get to your destination you can unpack your toiletries and use the bag to keep your beverages cold while on the beach. This is also a space saver over packing both a cooler and toiletry bag in your suitcase.

If you want to attempt to get an empty seat, there are some tricks to try. Ask for a seat near the back end of the plane, because these generally fill up last. If you are not comfortable with that, ask for an exit row seat. These seats come with extra responsibility, that not many are willing to accept.

You should now see why this hobby and career is very popular. There is so much for you to see and do! There is also a ton of information on how to reap the benefits of each trip. By following these tips, you are well on your way to becoming a smarter and safer traveler.
