Information About Creatine Supplements

By Jared Silver

It has been more than ten years, but I do remember the very first time that I gave it a try.

I was hoping that it would bring me the huge muscle gains advertised in so many magazines and advertisements, and many friends of mine were keen to the idea of using it too.

When compared with taking something artificial that might promise that mass would be built, taking creatine, which is a natural protein already produced by the body, does not seem as dangerous.

Ok, we will compare both the pros and cons associated with creatine since arguments could be made for both of them. When all is said and done, you will make the final decision regarding if it's right for you. Looking to the positive side of this, your muscles are going to recover faster when taking it; this has been scientifically proven. So what exactly does that mean?

It means that you will not be as tired as you normally would be when lifting weights for a longer time. This will result in an increased lean muscle mass along with strength gains because you will be putting forth extra effort when you workout which will help with building mass.

To the point, creatine absolutely works. In order to get the most from this supplement, you have to work out on a regular basis or your time will just be wasted. Speaking negatively, it has been known to make you dehydrated. Thus, when you are in the middle of a creatine cycle, always drink a lot more water than you usually would.

There are those people who think that a lot of the gains you end up making are directly related to the water weight that is caused by this supplement. They think that it causes them to look bloated. Yes, your body is going to retain more water while you are taking it, but that is not the whole story. You will have the results to show for it, no matter what, since a combination of water weight and muscle is what you will be putting on.

In the end, it is your decision to make with respect to which way you want to go.

You may want to try it out in moderation to see if it is something you would want to commit to in larger portions.
