One Of The Major Golfing Attractions On The East Coast

By Nesbitt Burns

Early on the history of the venerable Pine Valley Golf Course of Camden New Jersey rode a golfing legend of lore. A most experienced golfer from the isles of Scotland strolled out onto the greens, from the Pine Valley clubhouse and actually expected to mingle with North American buffalo on the greens. You might expect this up at the the Glendale links way up in Canada , he was told, but not here at the Pines. That is not today , in the present tense. So the world of golf and the fables and stories of golfing legends go.

A few years ago, a group of golfers visited the area for a competition and to promote the real value of camaraderie in sports. The Pine Valley was their venue wherein many golfers, golf enthusiast and viewers attended. One of the players form Manitoba strode briskly from the club towards the first tee. He turned down and saw one amazing fairway with tall pines, sand and brushwood. He was surprised and reacted in glee just like the other golfers who saw the same site. The fairway turned right and disappeared between the trees. There was nothing else in sight. Many stories about the Pine Valley Golf Club are spread out, encouraging the golfers to visit the place next to paradise.

Tournaments in Pine Valley have been popular for many years but they never handled major challenges because it cannot accommodate large number of spectators throughout the world. According to some interviews, the club does not have plans to cut some of the pines or trees generally located in the place. They added that they could cater amateur tournaments and public or private golf courses in the United States. As a proof to these things, the club earned many awards and rankings from 2003 to 2011 as the best Golf Course in the United States, New Jersey, and in the whole world of golf courses.

Tournaments are held in this place just like public and private golfing for many years. Many public faces in Hollywood and in the whole world visited the place in order to play golf and to see the relaxing ambiance of the place they called as paradise. Truly, the place was not merely designed for golfing activities but also to build friendships and good relationships to the golfers.

Lastly when it comes to variety and challenges one of the most surprising comments by many is that on completing the round is that rakes in the sand bunkers are conspicuously missing, yet the sand is as pockmarked as the moon itself. And on top of that there are other signs of golfers shame gouges where they were someone unable to pick up their golfing balls cleanly off the sand. It seems that somehow footprints and gashes seem to attract golf balls like powerful magnets themselves.
