Important Tips For Refrigerant Recovery

By Mia Kent

There are some very vital tips worth consideration before engaging in refrigerant recovery. Understanding the system to be recovered is of great importance. Before engaging in the process, you should ensure that you are well conversant with the system in order to do it properly.

Vapor and liquid must also be removed from the system before conducting the process. The liquid normally accumulate at the bottom of the system, therefore the port at the bottom should be used in ensuring that both the liquid and the vapor are completely eliminated.

The vapor and the liquid must also be eliminated from the system before the commencement of the process. Since the liquid normally accumulate in the lower part of the system, it is therefore removed using the bottom port of the system. If the liquid and the vapor are not removed first, then the recovery will not be successful.

The lesser the friction, the faster the speed of the process. It is also advisable to use a short horse. If the horse is long, the pressure will decrease hence also making the process to take long. The Schraeder valves should also be removed first before starting the process.

It is important to protect the interior of the system from any dirt and dust. A filter is therefore used to make sure that the interior is protected. It is normally placed at the port to filter in what is getting into the interior of the refrigerator. It is advisable that each time the process is done, a new filter is used. This is also to make sure that the interior is fully protected.

Interior of the system must also be kept clean. Any dirt and dust must not be allowed to get inside. This is because the dirt and other inferior objects are likely to destroy the interior of the refrigerant. A filter is normally used especially at the inlet port in order to achieve this objective. Use of new filter is always recommended each time the process is done.

Also of importance to note are the various available methods for conducting the recovery. Firstly, there is the push and pull method. Secondly is the liquid method while lastly is the vapor method. Application of these methods depends on the type and size of the system undergoing the process.

Oil less system on the other hand is favorable to the liquid method. The size and the type of the refrigerant is however not necessary for the application of this method. What is of consideration is whether the system can recover liquid after the process or not. It is only used in systems which can recover the liquid. Vapor method on the other hand is more or less similar to the liquid method. These are some of the essential tips to consider in refrigerant recovery process.
