The water at this point turns blood red on various occasions due to the presence of tiny shrimps.
Two other stops along the way will deliver you to Wailua Falls and Oheo Gulch. They are a must visit to complete this experience. The falls has lush vegetation along the 80 feet the water plummets. The gulch on the other hand is lined with alluring pools along the cliff. They are a reward to every visitor.
