Three Factors That Can Be Used To Classify Air Conditioning Systems

By Neil Limas

Every commercial enterprise has a unique identity.Different things influence their identity. From the industry they are based in to where they source their raw materials from, every single aspect of a commercial enterprise defines their identity.Depending upon the exact profile of a commercial enterprise, its needs would also vary. For instance, while one commercial enterprise may require a certain type of commercial air conditioning service system, another might warrant a different type.

In the kind of economic environment that exists today, the majority of commercial enterprises have to be careful because even the smallest of factors can derail their objectives. It is because of this reason that even your choice of air conditioning system can influence how your company fairs in the long term.

While you go through the industry in search of the right commercial air conditioning service then you may have already found many air conditioning systems suited for commercial enterprises.Even so, in order to make the right choice, you should learn how air conditioning systems are categorized. Here is some information that should help you greatly.

How It Cools

On the basis of their method of cooling, air conditioning systems can be put in two groups. The first type is the radiation based air conditioning systems which have been around for a long time. These systems usually employ a network of tubes and pipes which are embedded in the floors, walls and ceilings of the premises. The heat is taken away from the room through the use of cold water which flows through the tubes and pipes.

The other type is that of forced air systems, which are common in modern day enterprises. These systems use ducts to circulate air inside the premises. These types of air conditioning systems are the most common in the world today as radiant systems are slowly being phased out by virtue of preference.

Zone Based Categorization

Another way to differentiate between various air conditioning systems is on the basis of how many control panels they are based on and their inherent size.Air conditioning systems that are based on a single control panel would be known as single zone air conditioning systems. On the other hand, an air conditioning system that works in a large area with the help of different control panels would be known as a multiple zone air conditioning system.

The benefit of using multiple zone air conditioning systems is that they allow different zones to have varying temperatures.Multiple zone systems are preferred by most medium to large scale enterprises because their usage is much more flexible.

Varying Air Volume

Whether the volume of air being forced is constant or not is also a criteria on which air conditioning systems can be categorized. An air conditioning system that works through variable air volume is useful because it offers greater adaptability to the enterprise.

However, as variable air conditioning systems are more complex in nature, they turn out to be more expensive. In fact, the more advanced an enterprise level air conditioning system is the more expensive it would be, which means a certain level of compromise may be important for financial solidity.
