For a place to be recognized as the Sprint Capital, this obviously just means that Knoxville has some really awesome things that it can boast about to the rest of the world. This said hotspot is found in the beautiful state of Iowa. The city itself serves as the county seat of the Marion County in the said state.

There are many good things you can check out the next time you finds yourself near this city. For starters, you can have a glimpse of the city back during the Civil War. It houses a history center that highlights all these untold stories of bravery and humanity. Aside from their colorful and rich history, the place also boasts of natural scenic backgrounds that make you appreciate the small wonders even more. People who fondly call themselves tree huggers and naturalists will really enjoy the majestic spread that one can feast her eyes upon. Due to this natural beauty, it is then no wonder that the city just houses quite a number of woodlands, parks, and breathtaking gardens.

This city also boasts of the National Sprint Car Hall Of Fame and Museum. This is considered as one of the most astonishing treasure mines of trivia and knowledge for race car enthusiasts. It also provides very valuable information on the varied achievements in the race, the press releases of every event, and all similar stuff all these years.

Of course, having to look at still pictures will never be enough for any die hard fan. It is a must that one should see it all in action and full color. To be able to fulfill this goal, one simply has to get into the Knoxville Raceway, where all the fastest professional racers battle against one another to see who really is the undisputed king of the dirt track.

The Raceway is about half a mile long of semi banked dirt oval track. Its exact location is at the Marion County Fairgrounds of the city in the serene state of Iowa. The races here are typical Saturday night out dates of people, especially from April to September.

These tournaments are held every Saturday evenings of the said months. This has become one of the weekend getaway for the people nearby. These tournaments feature all 305 to 410 cubic inch cars in a race to the finish. If you cannot go every weekend, you can simply wait for the Nationals which will be held in August.

These events have gone on for ages, even to the point of being somewhat a tradition, but people never really grow tired of it all. They often huddle in the open arena which is why most races are timed during the warm seasons of the place. The city has a total of 204 good weather days, and the months of July and August are deemed to be the perfect time to watch a good game.

Of course, as the weather is a fickle thing, die hard fans often consult weather updates. They look into weather forecasts on their gadgets to make sure they come well equipped. After all, nothing kills the mood quite like a heavy downpour.
