Going on holiday with pets

By Simon Trefoils

Having holidays with the family or a group of friends is always enjoyable, but often it would be especially entertaining if you were able to take the animal members of your family with you. A lot of people accept that dogs are unwelcome when they go on holiday because this is so frequently the situation. So we have to spend money on accommodation for our dogs while we take a trip. Kett Cottages is unlike other accommodation providers though since they offer places where dogs are just as welcome as people to enjoy a holiday with you.

It's one of the biggest differences between taking a holiday at a hotel or resort where dogs are strictly forbidden, and taking a holiday in a cosy self-catering cottage in Norfolk, where pets are welcomed in many cottages. In addition, if you did find a hotel or resort willing to admit a pet, and it was overseas, your pet might be affected by the journey.

This is particularly concerning with the noise levels of an airplane affecting the very sensitive hearing of an animal which can't hide from the noise. The holiday cottages offer you the freedom to decide whether you prefer to have a holiday with all the members of your family.

There are a range of different Kett holiday cottages that are pet-friendly so you can still find the perfect cottage for your holiday. There are cottages that are situated so that you can take a stroll with your family and the dog to a local farmer's market. Otherwise there are coastal cottages so you can walk down to the beach with your pet and have a run along the sand or through the Frisbee.

Next time you're planning a holiday, think about whether you'd rather take a simple walk in the field or whether you'd prefer to play with your dog, playing fetch or just walking them. People love their pets, but often they can forget exactly how much joy that pet provides, even in the simplest of situations. It's also very reassuring to know that your pet can come with you, instead of worrying about whether they are being well looked after, whether by the neighbour, a kennel or a cattery.
