Helping Bone Health Through Tuscan Olive Oil

When considering the health benefits of Tuscan olive oil, which ones are the most typical, you may wonder? You may be intrigued by the way that your immune system can be boosted through the various antioxidants within, for example. However, did you know that this type of oil can prove useful for the sake of helping and maintaining bone health in the long run? The University of Madrid conducted a study that supported this and it seems as though a certain component may be the most responsible for this. In terms of bone health, though, one particular substance seems to stand out the most.

The study showed that those who took in more olive oil for their diets were more likely to have greater levels of osteocalcin in their bodies. Octeocalcin is, in essence, a protein that is responsible for the maintenance of bone strength in the long run. It's clear that this protein is useful but how can be attributed to olive oil, one has to wonder? The article said that one possible theory would be how insulin resistance is prevented, which would play into bone health. What about the Mediterranean diet as well?

What was learned, according to a study done at the University of Athens, was that the Mediterranean diet could prove useful in the way of reducing the risk of osteoporosis. Keep in mind the types of food that are included with this diet, not only the oil type in question but various fruits and veggies that can aid the body just as well. While one cannot change their bones, for example, they can protect said bones with certain methods. Taking in nutrient-rich food is certainly a start.

Tuscan olive oil is the type of product that can come into effect in many ways for better health, the bones included. However, I cannot help but feel as though this impact can be boosted by other products, which is where I feel as though the Mediterranean diet can be focused on. Keep in mind that many different products will be looked at, each of them boasting tremendous health benefits. Who's to say that said benefits couldn't play into bone health in the long run?
