Procedure Of Unwanted Hot Tub Removal

By Joshua Morris

Over the years, owners of whirlpools in Portland OR are encouraged to remove or sell their faulty tubs. The process is not that complicated like installing a new pool but however much this is true, unwanted hot tub removal involves planning. More often than not, the work involved is usually half as much as that of fitting a new one.

When thinking of removing your Jacuzzi, ask yourself whether you can repair it or whether you would rather have it disposed. In most cases, there have been reported many catastrophic maintenance and fixing issues. This occurs mostly in the cool areas of the city when the owners fail to winterize them. Therefore, you should think deeply so that you can have a rational judgment on whether you want to repair it or buy another one.

When removing a faulty plunge bath from your house, make sure you get the manual from the manufacturer and read it. Re-reading the manual will make you explicitly understand how the sauna bath was originally constructed including each connection of the individual components. It will give you a decent idea of electrical connection and how the heater was connected. This will ensure your safety.

A good number of people own whirlpools that are connected electrically and some may be of high voltage. Electrical needs should be greatly considered before disconnecting any wires. The standard bath should have a central disconnection box to allow you to isolate power. If you will not be replacing your plunge bath, then seal the box so that it will be easy to make future connections during another installation.

The next thing to do is to embark on the actual removal procedure. You will have to unplug the electrical connections including the gas connections, electricity and the heating systems. Here, it is safe to make sure that this is properly done because you can accidentally shock yourself while cutting the electric lines with your saw.

After dealing with the electrical disconnection process, remove the spa skirt. Some whirlpools are manufactured using components connected using screws. This makes it possible for you to disassemble them using a screw driver. Some of the spa slats are connected together via the tongue and groove which do not require as much effort because their removal require no cutting.

Breaking up the spa pool is the most challenging part of the process. It is because the Jacuzzi is mostly made from plastic or any other material that has been proven to be long lasting. The convenient way of dealing with this is to put on your safety gear and simply attach it with a reciprocating saw. The process may be messy because of the dust that will be produced as a result of sawing.

Cutting the Jacuzzi into smaller pieces makes their carriage from the house to the yard easy. It is important that you properly dispose them in a dumpster to keep the environmental effect at the low. It is significant you put on gloves and goggles so that you avoid causing injuries to your hand and keeping dust away from your eyes respectively.
